Donate Your Unwanted Items

The vacation period is a great time to have a clear out and make sure you’re only keeping the things you actually need.

If you’ve got items you no longer use, don’t just throw them away. There are easy ways to pass them on and reduce waste.

You can donate unwanted items all year round in British Heart Foundation donation banks across campus.

What you can donate

  • Clothing and shoes
  • Bags and accessories
  • Books
  • Computer games, CDs and DVDs
  • Electrical items
  • Crockery, cookware and homeware

Please do not donate

  • Pillows and duvets
  • Knives of any kind
  • Glassware
  • Dirty or damaged items

Donation points

Tie your items in a clean bag and place your donation in one of the red British Heart Foundation donation points.

Permanent donation points

  • Ross House, Birks Grange
  • G Block, East Park, top of stairs
  • L Block, East Park
  • Opposite B Block, top of stairs, East Park
  • Rowe House, by bike hoops
  • J Block, Lafrowda
  • Lafrowda Penwith, outside Q and R Block
  • Rowancroft, opposite Rowancroft Court

Temporary collection points

These are usually available during the main Moving On Project period from May to September:

  • Ross House, Birks Grange
  • Teign, Duryard
  • Moberly
  • East Park, 2 donation points
  • Holland Hall, laundry
  • Lopes Hall
  • James Owen Court, reception
  • St David’s, The Library

Food donations

If you have any in-date, unopened and non-perishable food, these can be taken to the community fridge in the Forum at any time.
